IHSSA State Debate Results

Lincoln Debate students participated in the IHSSA State Debate tournament last weekend. After defeating students from Johnston, Dowling, and Dubuque, Junior Josie O’Conner-Miller broke to the top 16 in Lincoln-Douglass debate. She lost a 2-1 decision to Okoboji in octos and finished 9th overall. Josie is Lincoln’s first LD debate elimination round student at state in 15 years. Freshmen Everett Reed was named the champion of the novice house in student congress over students. Senior Phylicia Brown was named a senator of excellence and 3rd place in the “Beta” house of student congress. In the state championship house of student congress, Senior Ashley May was named a superior senator and placed 6th overall in the state.
