Lincoln Debate Results
The Lincoln Speech and Debate Team had an amazing weekend competing in the Iowa High School Forensics League All Iowa State Finals. In speech, Senior Ashley May was a semifinalist in spontaneous speaking while Junior Josie O’Connor-Miller was a semifinalist poetry. In their respective final rounds, Freshman Aspyn Butler placed 4th in dramatic interp, Senior Carlos Santiago placed 4th in Humorous Interp while the duo team of Tabitha Aplin placed 3rd. The duo team of Giovanni Bahena and Phylicia Brown placed 2nd and were named state runners up. The Lincoln team placed 5th overall in the category of speech.
In debate, Josie O’Connor-Miller was an octo-finalist in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Ashley May placed 7th in the student congress final round.
Phylicia Brown was nominated for senior of the year. Coach Meyer was named the Iowa Forensics League’s Coach of the Year.
