New Orleans Cooking at LHS!

When the Foods II students coined the phrase “We’re cheffin’ it today!” to describe lab days, little did they know that they would cook with an actual chef from New Orleans. Chef Travis Johnson, brother of Lincoln teacher Mrs. Bridget Bowser, made his second annual visit to the Lincoln classes while he was in Iowa for the holidays. The students will soon focus on regional and international cuisines so Chef Johnson directed the students in preparing a true New Orleans meal. In just 80 minutes, the students prepared and sampled Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Red and White Shrimp Remoulade, and Traditional Bananas Foster. Thank you, Chef Johnson and Mrs. Bowser for arranging a great experience for our students!
