Boys Cross Country Team Finish 3rd, Girls Finish 4th

The Boys Cross Country Team competed on Thursday, October 4th at the East High School Invitational Cross Country Meet. The Lincoln boys ran to a 3rd place finish at the invitational, finishing just a mere 8 points behind the tournament winners. The Lincoln Boys Cross Country Team ran its best average time in over 5 years!

Multiple Lincoln athletes placed in their races and set personal bests. Senior Arron Havens finished with 4th place honors. Sophomore Sam McMichael finished 7th and Freshman Tanner Wood finished in 8th place. All Three athletes set personal bests. Additionally, JV Cross Country runners Sophomore Tom Childey and Freshman Cole Baber also set personal best times.

The Girls Cross Country Team ran at the meet at East as well. The Girls Varsity Cross Country Team finished 4th overall. Varsity runner Audrey Klein earned a medal at the meet with a 7th place finish. Varsity team members Lynzie Miller and Courtney Cantu were the next two finishers from Lincoln. The JV Girls Cross Country Team finished in 3rd place. The JV Girls Cross Country Team was led to their 3rd  place finish by Isabelle Gruis, Macy McClelland and Linsey Johnson.

The Cross Country Team next competes on Tuesday, October 9th at the CIML Conference meet at Ewing Park. Both JV and Varsity Boys and Girls Lincoln runners will face off against runners from Des Moines Hoover, Des Moines East, Des Moines North, Des Moines Roosevelt, Ottumwa and Indianola. The meet begins at 5:00 p.m. at Ewing Park (directions an be found by clicking here). We hope you can come out to cheer on our Lincoln Cross Country Teams!
