AP Music Theory Students Attend Des Moines Symphony

Mr. White’s AP Music Theory class recently completed a weeks-long score analysis project, analyzing the piece: Enigma Variations (Edward Elgar) in-depth, looking at historical significance, influence and inspiration, compositional techniques, form, chord structure, texture and instrumentation, and more. The Des Moines Symphony performed this very piece at the Civic Center. Lincoln’s AP Music class attended the performance as an extension of their completed presentations on Saturday, April 28, and greatly enjoyed the experience and opportunity to see the piece performed live by a fantastic local symphonic orchestra.
