Biography

I'm originally from Colorado, but I've fallen in love with the city of Des Moines! I moved to Iowa to attend Dordt College in Sioux Center. I love to do anything outdoors: hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking. Working with people is my passion, especially kids, which is why I love my job SO MUCH! I teach ELL classes in the IELC at Lincoln and East High School. The range of diversity in Des Moines is a beautiful thing and I'm very excited to continue to teach and learn here for many years to come!

Biography

After working with refugee families through a local non-profit organization while still in high school, I fell in love with ELL.

I attended Iowa State University and graduated with a BA in English Education, ELL endorsement and Spanish minor.

Currently, I teach ELLs who recently arrived to the U.S. as well as ELLs who have lived for 7+ years in the U.S.

Weekends in my house are spent curled up with a hot cup of coffee, my German Shepherd Tango, and my cat Cash while watching Netflix or listening to old vinyl records.
