College Information Night
On Monday, October 29th Lincoln will be hosting a College Information Night. The event is from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Commons at Lincoln Main. This event is designed for students in grades 9-12 and will include valuable information for students in each grade level. Lincoln High School strives to share with all students the information they need both to successfully graduate from high school and to successfully prepare for college. Preparing for college is a 4 year process, which is why the College Information Night will include information for students in grades 9-12.
The event will include a college fair, with representatives from over 40 colleges and universities. This is a great opportunity to talk to them about what their school or program can offer you and get answers to any questions you have. These representatives will be available throughout the evening, from 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the commons.
The evening will also consist of multiple breakout sessions with information for students in all grades. The breakout sessions will begin every 30 minutes starting at 5:30 p.m. Students of any grade level may attend any of the breakout sessions, regardless of the topics covered. The following sessions will be available:
- College Entrance Requirements: 4 Years of Planning (9th and 10th grade focus)
- ACT Prep (11th grade focus)
- Scholarships (12th grade focus)
- Hands on Approach to Starting the College Application – students will actually complete an application during this session (12th grade focus)
- Selecting the College That Is Right For You (11th and 12th grade Focus)
- Virtual College Tour with current college students available to answer questions
There will also be a Senior Information Meeting during this event. This meeting is for seniors and their families only. There will be two Senior Information Meetings during the event, one at 6:00 p.m. and one at 7:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Main Cafeteria. Seniors and their families need only attend one of these meetings. During this meeting, seniors will receive information about ordering their graduation cap and gown for the Commencement Ceremony as well as information about ordering graduation announcements, cards, etc.
Throughout the event, food will be available for purchase. Bordenaro’s Pizza slices, cookies, coffee and juice will all be available throughout the evening for purchase, with the proceeds benefiting Lincoln Student Council.
