Lincoln Students Selected for All-State Jazz Choir

Congratulations to Jessica Richter, Allison Richter, and Sam Sides for making the Iowa All State Jazz Choir! Only 20 students are chosen state-wide for this choir. They will perform July 22nd as part of the Iowa Choral Director’s Summer Convention.

Parent University

Lincoln’s Parent University will be on Wednesday, April 3rd from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Main. This month’s topic will be Social Media. Parents will be shown and encouraged to create accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites that their students frequent. We hope to see you there!

CIML All Star Game

Support our seniors by attending the CIML All Star Game on Saturday, March 30th. Two Lincoln students were selected to play in the All Star game, Ashley Methfessel and Connor Quijano. The game will be played at Valley High School. The CIML All Star Girls Game starts at 5:00 p.m. and the All Star Boys Game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.00.

2013 Lincoln Prom

The 2013 Lincoln High School Prom will be on Saturday, April 27th from 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Downtown Marriott. This year’s prom theme is “A Night in Paris” and tickets to the event are $35.00. More information about purchasing prom tickets will be available soon.

Lincoln Music Students Perform at Solo Festival

On Saturday, April 14th, Lincoln music students performed at the State Contest. Lincoln Vocal Music Students received 21 Division I ratings, 10 Division II ratings, and 3 Division III ratings. In addition, Lincoln students earned the “Best of Center” designation for all three vocal performance centers. Click here to read more.

Construction Program Receives Grant

The Lincoln High School Construction program teamed with the Iowa Labor Education and Training Fund (Lynn Pickard), Laborers Local 177 (Jack Comegys) and LECET (Dan Prymek) received a $10,000 grant from Prairie Meadows.

Lincoln Student Earns ACE Mentor Scholarship

Lincoln Senior Ross Nickey received a $2000.00 scholarship from the ACE Mentor Program. ACE is an after-school program where students work in teams while being mentored by architects, contractors and engineers. Ross also completed both the 3D Mechanical and 3D Architectural Design programs at Lincoln. Congrats Ross!

Academic Decathlon Team News

The Academic Decathlon team represented Lincoln proudly at the state competition in Mt. Vernon. This was their 5th appearance at the state competition in the past 6 years! During the two day event, the team had to contend against twelve other teams in categories such as math, economics, language arts, art, and music.
