Host Families Needed
2013 marks our 29th year for the Kofu, Japan and the Des Moines, USA Student Exchange. On August, 2, students and chaperones will arrive from Kofu for a seven day visit and in June 2014, 26 DMPS students will travel to Japan. Des Moines students ages 11-16 will spend one week with host families touring Yamanashi Prefecture and Tokyo; students from 6th-10th grade are eligible for the trip.
We are seeking families to open their homes for these wonderful young people. The group arrives at the Des Moines International Airport on Friday, August 2 and departs Friday, August 9. During the week, from 9-5 each day, the Japanese students tour central Iowa and host families plan activities for that first weekend and in the evenings.

If your child is interested in applying for the 2014 Exchange Program, please indicate that on the hosting form and I will send you out the application. Please consider hosting one or two Japanese students or chaperones; it is a wonderful experience and builds friendships that will last a life time.
