Lincoln High Remembers Antonio Sanchez-Peck

Lincoln High came together Friday to pay tribute to Antonio Sanchez-Peck, a 16-year old sophomore who died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing SW 9th Street. Classmates, family friends and neighbors held a candlelight vigil. Many people wore blue, Antonio’s favorite color, or brought blue balloons and flowers. Principal Williamson notified families of the tragic accident and urged everyone to “please take care of one another.” Click the photo to see more of the vigil.

Silly PJs, Serious Topic at Lincoln High

Friday was PJ Day as decreed by Joppa, a local nonprofit that advocates on behalf of the homeless. Lincoln High School was one of 27 schools in central Iowa where students showed up for class in pajamas as part of a consciousness-raising aimed at providing assistance to area homeless people.
