iJAG Students Compete at Career Development Conference

On Thursday, May 3rd, six Lincoln iJAG students (Deja Austin, Angel Cart, Emmanuel Seakor, Allie Brockett, Jennifer Smith, and Toia Harris) competed at the Career Development Conference in Ankeny. The students competed in several different events, including art expression, employability skills, public speaking, STEAM banner competition, critical thinking, community service projects, and math skills. Lincoln iJAG students won second place in the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) banner competition. Lincoln’s STEAM topic was science. In April, we had a guest speaker in our classroom from the Science Center of Iowa and we also learned about internship opportunities through Broadlawns. Both organizations were featured on our STEAM banner the iJAG students created. Special thanks to Deja Austin for your extra time and work on the banner. Way to go Lincoln students!
