State Wrestling Champion!

Congratulations to sophomore Mickey Griffith as he was crowned the state wrestling champion at 170 lbs this past Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Mickey won his final match 9-2. A high school principal from another school was in attendance and had this to say about Mickey via email: “Last night Mickey displayed the best humility and character when he won.  It was great to see a young man respond they way he did, calm and thankful to his coaches.  My wife pointed out the Character Counts sign on the scoreboard and mentioned that he was one of the only champions that displayed character.  Then this morning hearing his interview on WHO, it confirmed what we saw on the mat.  Please let Mickey and your staff know that the win was big but the wrestler and what the program represents will be remembered forever.”
