Centennial Homecoming Week is Here!

Homecoming week is here! Our student leadership group has been planning since the summer to make this week the most enjoyable time of year for our students. The theme, in honor of our centennial celebration, is Lincoln Through the Decades. There are many ways for students, staff, and families to engage at Lincoln this week.

Students, as a reminder, you must have your Lincoln Student ID to enter. You will not be able to enter your ID number or show a picture from your phone. Be responsible and have your physical ID. Go to Student Services if you have lost your ID. Let’s check out the activities for this week:

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18: 

Today’s theme: 1920s

Homecoming Activity: Student and Staff Kickball Tournament at the baseball and softball fields (Kurtz Opportunity Center) starts at 5:30PM. Admission is free, however, students must be eligible via the absence/ tardy policy. There is an updated list, numerically, of students not eligible posted in the commons.

 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19:

Today’s theme is the 1960s for 9th & 10th graders; 1970s for 11th & 12th graders

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20:

Today’s theme is the 1980s for 9th & 10th graders; 1990s for 11th & 12th graders

The annual Homecoming Coronation will be announced at 5:30PM in the stadium followed by the 11th vs 12th grade powder puff game. Again, eligibility is in effect for this event.

 

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21:

Today’s theme is Lincoln spirit wear for 9th & 10th graders; LHS bibs for  11th graders; and LHS Togas for 12th graders

The homecoming pep assembly will be held during 8th period.

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22:

No school today. The varsity homecoming game is set to kick-off at 7PM against Council Bluffs Lincoln. Remember, tickets must be purchased in advance.

 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23:

Today is our official Centennial Day! Because of the number of activities, we have bulleted them out below:

  • Homecoming Parade: This starts at 10AM and will go along SW 12th Street between Watrous and Hutchens Stadium.
  • Southside Carnival: This starts immediately following the parade in the LHS parking lot and the Commons. There will be bounce houses, games for younger children, food trucks, and a traveling magician. There will be formal school tours at 11AM, 12PM, and 1PM.
  • LHS Centennial Dinner: Tickets are no longer available for this event. For those that purchased tickets, we will see you at the Holiday Inn by the Airport at 5:30PM!
  • LHS Homecoming Dance: Our annual student dance will be held from 7PM-10PM in the Round House. Tickets are on sale now through Thursday before and after school as well as during both lunches. Cost per ticket is $15.Decades
