Upward Bound

Upward Bound (UB) and Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) are a federally funded TRIO programs that encourage students to graduate from high school and enroll in post-secondary education. Lincoln’s UB and UBMS programs are based out of Central College with their office in Pella, Iowa.

During the academic year, students meet with Upward Bound coordinators in group sessions and/or individually monthly throughout the school year. These monthly meetings follow a general curriculum and coordinators also plan workshops, field trips and attendance to cultural events.

The summer program allows students to reside on the Central College campus for six weeks. There students engage in college preparatory classes in math, science, foreign language, composition, literature and more. They also work on developing social and academic skills, begin matching personal qualities and goals with career options, learn more about the college admissions process and much more! Read can read more about the summer program online.
