Softball Tryouts

Lincoln High School softball tryouts and practice will begin on Monday May 6. 8th and 9th grade will be from 3:30-5:00. Grades 10-12 will run from 5:00-7:00. Practice will be every day. You must sign up in the Activities Office and have all paperwork turned in to attend practice. Rails Academy students may sign up with Mrs. Nigro.

Youth Opportunity Fair

There will be a two day Youth Opportunity Fair hosted as Hoover High School and East High School. The event targets students ages 14 to 19 years old. The event will be held at Hoover on Tuesday, May 7th from 2:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. and at East High School on Wednesday, May 8th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Des Moines Menace Genereal Manager Visits iJAG Class

The General Manager for the Des Moines Menace, a professional soccer team, visited Lincoln iJAG students. Matt Homonoff, the Menace GM, stopped by Darron Kitterman’s iJAG class to speak on the topic of ‘Careers in Sports Management’ on Thursday, April 4th. Students were able to speak with Mr. Homonoff about his career and his post-secondary education that helped him prepare for it.

Lincoln Drama Presents “A Piece of My Heart”

The Lincoln Drama Department is getting ready for their spring production of A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro. The play will be performed on April 18, 19, and 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Auditorium. Tickets are $6.00 at the door and $3.00 for students with SATs. Lincoln senior Matt Friend received the Des Moines Rotary Club Scholarship and delivered his thank-you speech at the Rotary Club Scholarship luncheon. Each DMPS high school received one Rotary Scholarship per year. Congratulations Matt!

Lincoln Library Resources Being Used By Students
