Mr. White’s AP Music Theory class recently completed a weeks-long score analysis project, analyzing the piece: Enigma Variations (Edward Elgar) in-depth, looking at historical significance, influence and inspiration, compositional techniques, form, chord structure, texture and instrumentation, and more. One of the missions of DMPS is to educate students who “understand the rights and obligations of citizenship.” And one of those rights is becoming a voter, a right available to many high school students. To register to vote in Iowa you must (a) be at least 17 1/2 years old, (b) be a U.S. citizen, and (c) be a resident of Iowa.
